Part racehorse. All workhorse.

In addition to being a great desktop computer, Mac mini powers everything from home automation to giant render farms. And now with eighth-generation Intel quad-core and 6-core processors and Intel UHD Graphics 630, Mac mini has even more compute power for industrial-grade tasks. So whether you’re running a live concert sound engine or testing your latest iOS app, Mac mini is the shortest distance between a great idea and a great result.

Cool story.

Packing this much power into the same enclosure required an all-new thermal architecture — including all-flash storage, a bigger fan, expanded vents, and a redesigned power supply.

Climb in. Geek out.

Mac mini features high-performance 2666MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM memory for faster rendering, working with massive files, or running multiple virtual machines. And now you can configure even more memory — up to 64GB — to run even heavier workloads.

Haul apps.

Mac mini now includes all-flash PCIe-based storage, with up to four times the read speeds of previous flash options. So you can load giant files and launch apps faster than ever — and with the available 2TB SSD, you’ll have twice the space for all of them.

Next-generation security.

Mac mini features the Apple T2 Security Chip — second-generation custom Mac silicon designed by Apple to make Mac mini even more secure. The T2 Security Chip consolidates several controllers into one, and includes a Secure Enclave coprocessor that provides the foundation for encrypted storage and secure boot capabilities.

The iPad has undergone a number of changes since its original release in 2010, including the ability to create folders to organize your apps, multitasking, FaceTime support, AirPlay, AirPrint and Voice Dictation among many other features. Feeling overwhelmed? This list provides the official iPad manuals from Apple.

Manual

These operating system manuals are marked alongside the iPad model with which they debuted, however, you should use the manual that corresponds to the version of iOS you use rather than your iPad model. Most iPad users are now on iOS 9, so if you are unsure of your version, download the iOS 9 manual. These manuals are geared more towards the operating system than the actual device. If you haven't updated the operating system, find your iPad in the list and use the manual appropriate for that model.

iPad Pro 3rd Gen / iOS 12

iOS 12 was a departure from other operating system upgrades because it contains few new features. Instead, the update focused on performance, making the iPad even faster at doing everyday tasks. While awesome for any iPad, this was especially beneficial to older models. Unfortunately, iOS 12 is only compatible with the original iPad Air and newer tablets including the iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini 4. This makes the iPad 4 and previous models obsolete.

iPad 2018 / iOS 11

The iOS 11 release saw the debut of features that help the iPad carry its own in enterprise situations. This includes a new Files app, which puts all of your cloud storage and local storage in one convenient place making it easier to share files and work on the same file from multiple computers or tablets. Drop-and-drag also came to the iPad, which makes sharing files and objects across apps even easier.

iPad 2017 / iPad Pro 2nd Gen / iOS 10

The theme of iOS 10 was interoperability. While iOS keeps each app in its own walled enclosure to protect one app against another, which helps protect the operating system from viruses, IOS 10 includes new ways for apps to work alongside each. This allows new photo filters downloaded from the app store to work inside the Photos app and new widgets to be available on the notifications screen.

iPad Pro / iOS 9

The two big features added to the iPad 'Pro' lineup are the Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, but perhaps the biggest feature in iOS 9 is the multitasking capabilities. If you have an iPad Air or more recent iPad, you can do slide-over multitasking, which lets you run an app in a column to the side of your iPad. If you have at least an iPad Air 2, iOS 9 supports true split-screen multitasking. But perhaps the best feature of the update is the virtual touchpad, which lets you use the on-screen keyboard like a laptop's touchpad.

If you don't want to download this manual to iBooks, you can check out the interactive online version of the manual.

iPad Air 2 / iPad Mini3 (iOS 8)

The iOS 8 update made a big splash because of the inclusion of widgets, which makes replacing the on-screen keyboard with a third-party keyboard possible. It also includes Family Sharing and the ability to handoff a document from your iPad to your MacBook or your iPhone.

iPad Air / iPad Mini 2 (iOS 7)

The biggest visual change to the operating system since the iPad's introduction, iOS 7 featured a brand new user interface. Included among the many new features were iTunes Radio, a service similar to Pandora, and AirDrop, which allows wireless sharing of photos and files.

iPad 4 / iPad Mini (iOS 6)

The iPad 4 was released alongside iOS 6, which added Siri to the iPad. This version also replaced Google Maps with Apple's Maps, though Google Maps is still available on the App Store. iOS 6 also introduced a new look and feel for the App Store.

iPad 3 (iOS 5.1)

The iPad 3 added a number of new features like voice dictation and an improved camera. It also integrates Twitter into the operating system, making it easier to tweet to your friends. This updated manual is appropriate iPad 3 owners using iOS 5.1.

iPad 2 (iOS 4.3)

The iPad 2 was released with a new version of the operating system. The features of iOS 4.3 are similar to 4.2 but include support for new features on the iPad 2 like the front-facing and back-facing camera.

The Original iPad (iOS 3.2)

The original iPad does not contain all of the features of the iPad 2 or iPad 3rd generation. If you bought the iPad when it was first launched and have not updated the operating system, this manual will give you accurate information on how to use all of the features.

iOS 4.2

The first major operating system update after the original iPad release, the iOS 4.2 update brought the ability to create folders to better arrange your applications into categories. It also included AirPlay, AirPrint, multi-tasking and fast app switching.
