Sort of a long “info” post - as I received my new Mag 256 last night, and I didn't know much about setup, but from everything I'd seen online, it looked pretty easy.

I gave my MAC address to my IPTV service, they gave me my Portal URL info, and my server info, and away I went.

First I updated the software, and everything looked ready to go.

I went into the network info page, and I noticed that if you select an auto Wired connection, it fucks up the settings. No Network mask, IP and the DNS was screwy.

I changed the network settings to manual, gave my box a static IP, and fixed the rest of the network settings, and lo and behold everything started working.
